The Secret Service terminated the staff for failure when trying to kill Trump

The US Secret Service has issued a suspension of six people for failures at one of Donald Trump’s rallies last year, during which a weapon tried to kill the Republican, an employee confirmed.

Matt Quinn, a deputy director of the service, told the US partner of BBC CBS News that gathering in Butler, Pennsylvania, when Matthew Crows fired Trump and killed another participant, was an “operative failure”.

One of the Crooks bullets grazed Trump’s ear, which was then re -arranged. The attacker was shot dead.

It is unclear when the staff suspension and US media reports were officially issued whether they were already serviced.

Speaking to CBS, Quinn said employees receive penalties ranging from 10 to 42 days of leave without pay or benefits.

“The secret service is completely responsible for Butler,” he explained. “Butler was an operational failure and today we are focused on ensuring that this never happens again.”

Quinn, who was appointed for his role in May this year, added that he was “laser focused on fixing the root cause of the problem”, but his organization will not “shoot our path from it.”

Quinn told CBS, a number of improvements have already been made, including military -class drones and improved mobile command posts that can now be used by agents in the area.

The identity of the stopped staff and their roles on the day of the attack were not revealed.

The news comes just days before the anniversary of the attack on July 13, 2024. The participating rally Corey Comprator was killed and two other people were injured.

The incident sparked the resignation of the then director of the Kimberly Maitle service.

The secret service has been under intense control over the last 12 months and faces sharp criticism by US Congress members.

Last September, the Senate report on 94 pages found that failures in security and lack of communication within the US Secret Service “directly contribute” to the incident and that many questions remained without addressed two months later.

The attack was also described as a prevention in another report published in December by the work of the House of Representatives. This book identifies the main pass as a failure to provide the roof from which the crooks opened fire.

Trump, who was successfully re -elected in November, was provided for increased security after the attack – guaranteeing that he has received a level protection above what is characteristic of the presidential candidate.

In September, he was again re -arranged by secret services agents after a second of a possible arms was reduced to the shrubs of Trump’s golf course in Florida. The FBI also described this as an obvious attempt at murder.

The suspect in this second incident was detained.
