Two people were shot fatally at a church in Kentucky by Sagittarius, who had just shot a police officer nearby, officers said.
Two women, aged 72 and 32, were killed in the attack on Sunday at the Baptist Church of Richmond Road in Lexington, and two male parishioners were injured, police said.
Investigators believe that the suspect who was shot dead by police had a relationship with persons in the church.
State police said the wounded soldier was receiving medical treatment. Kentucky Governor Andy Beaar offered his condolences on social media, saying that “violence like this has no place in our community or state.”
The initial shooting took place at 11:36 local time (15:36 GMT) on Sunday near the Blue Grass Airport, a regional center in Faith’s County.
A state soldier has drawn the car of Terminal Drive’s suspect after receiving a signal signal signal, Lawrence Lawrence Police Chief Lawrence said at a press conference.
The suspect shot the soldier, a “accumulated vehicle” as he escaped and retired to the church about 16 miles (25 km), as the law enforcement agencies.
Lexington police said the injured soldier was in a stable state that received medical treatment. “
“The suspect has fired his weapon by church property,” the chief Waters told the media.
“Preliminary information shows that the suspect may have had a connection with the people in the church.”
Four people – two men and two women – were shot on church sites. The women were declared dead in place.
The two male victims were transported to a local hospital, one of which suffered critical injuries and the other in stable condition.
An employee of the Coronor’s Coronor of Faeta County said the church was small and the “majority” of those present were connected or close friends.
“This is a very tightly woven group of people in Richmond’s Baptist Church,” said officially.
The incident is being investigated by the State Police in Kentucky and the Department of Public Integrity of the department, police said.
