EPAAstronaut Shubhanshu Shukla to create a story by becoming the first Indian to step up at the International Space Station (ISS), is on the way back.
Live broadcast showed the mission of Axiom-4 (AX-4), which was canceled by the orbiting laboratory with its four-member crew on Monday. It’s It is expected to be scattered in a little less than 24 hours.
Guided by former NASA veteran Peggy Whitson and piloted by the captain of the Shukla group, the AX-4 arrived on ISS on June 26th. His crew included Slavos Uzenski-Uyshevski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary.
The captain of the Shukla group is only the second Indian to go to space. His journey came 41 years after Cosmonau Rakesh Sharma flies aboard Russian Soyuz in 1984.
AxiomAX -4 – a commercial flight run by Houston -based private company Axiom Space – is a cooperation between NASA, the Space Agency in India ISRO, the European Space Agency (ESA) and SpaceX.
On Monday, ISS published on X that the AX-4 crew had taken its place in the spacecraft and its hatches were closed. The weaning of the craft – when it separated from the ISS – was aired live.
The axiom space said the craft would be sprayed in the ocean off the coast of California and then the vessel would take it.
Indian Minister of Science Jitendra Singh said Splash Down was scheduled for July 15 at approximately 15:00 in India (09:30 GMT).
In his goodbye to the ISS on Sunday, Indian astronaut said that India’s journey to space study may be difficult, but it began.
“It was an incredible journey. Although it is now over, there is a long way for you and I have a long way. The journey of our human space mission is very long and difficult. But if we are determined, even the stars are achievable.”
He referred to India’s first man in the cosmona cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma, known, quoting a song by Urdu from 1924. “Sare Zhang is Ahcha” to say “India looked better than the rest of the world.”
“Even today, we want to know what it looks like from space. I’ll tell you. From space, today’s India seems ambitious. It looks fearless. It looks confident. So proud. So, I can say again that today’s India still seems better than the rest of the world,” said the captain of the Schuka group.
AxiomAx-4, which was initially expected to spend two weeks for the ISS, eventually stayed a few days longer. During his stay, Axiom Space said the crew had conducted 60 scientific experiments, including seven, designed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
ISRO, which has paid 5 billion rupees (£ 59 million; £ 43 million) to provide a place for the captain of the AX-4 School group and his training, said that the practical experience he has accumulated during his trip to the ISS will help India in his human space flights.
ISRO has announced plans to launch Gaganyaan – the first of its kind of human space flight in 2027 – and has ambitious plans to create a space station by 2035 and send an astronaut to the moon until 2040.
The captain of the Shukla group is among the four Indian Air Force officers included in the list last year to travel to Gaganyan.
Born on October 10, 1985, in the northern city of Laknau, the captain of the Schukla group joined the Air Force as a fighter pilot in 2006.
He has flew Migs, Sukhois, Dorniers, Jaguars and Hawks and has more than 2000 hours of flying experience.
Before flying into space, the captain of the Shukla group described the past year as “nothing but transformative”.
“So far it was an incredible trip, but the best is yet to come,” he said. “As I enter space, I carry not only tools and equipment, I bring hopes and dreams for billion hearts. Please all Indians pray for the success of our mission,” he said.
