Three killed in an explosion at the La Sheriff Sheriff School of Sheriff

Three police officers were killed in an explosion at the District Sheriff’s Training facility in East Los Angeles, officials say.

The explosion happened in the training of the academy of the center of Biscatelus on Friday morning around 7:30 local time (15:30 BST), according to the first responders.

Confirming the death in the X publication, US Prosecutor General Pam Bondi called it a “terrifying incident” and said the federal agents were located at the scene and “work to learn more.”

It was not clear what caused the explosion or whether there were more victims.

The explosion happened in a parking lot at the Special Bureau of Performance at the facility, Los Angeles (LASD) told the US partner of BBC News.

California governor Gavin Newo has been informed of the explosion and he is “closely monitoring the situation,” the X state said.

The Newsom Office added that state aid was also proposed to help respond to the incident.

Catherine Barger, Head of the Los Angeles District Supervisory Authorities, wrote in a statement that she “is closely monitoring the situation while learning more about what happened and the condition of those affected.”

“My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with brave men and women from the sheriff’s department during this difficult time,” she said.
