Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski says a meeting between himself and the Russian leader is the only way to secure peace

Ukraine has offered a new circle of peace talks with Russia, President Volodimir Zelenski said, aimed at restarting the negotiations that stopped last month.

The senior security officer Rustem Musrov suggested that he meet with the Russian side next week, Zelatus said at his evening address, adding that everything should be done to get a ceasefire.

Also reiterated his willingness to meet Russian Vladimir Putin face -to -face. “A leadership level is needed to ensure real peace,” he said.

The proposal came hours after Ukraine was struck with another widespread air bombing from Russia, with three people killed.

Ten regions of Ukraine, including several cities, were hit on the night between Friday and Saturday, Zelenski said on Saturday.

The military in Ukraine said more than 340 explosive and dummy drones and 35 cruise and ballistic missiles were used, but many of them were downloaded.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump said the United States will send the “best weapons” to Ukraine through NATO countries, while threatening Russia with heavy tariffs if a war deal was not reached within 50 days.

Trump also warned the US would impose 100% secondary rates Targeting the remaining trading partners of Russia if the peace transaction with Ukraine has not been reached by its deadline.

Two rounds of negotiations in Istanbul between Moscow and Kiev have so far failed to lead to the end of the fire, but the large -scale exchanges of prisoners and deals to return the bodies of killed soldiers agreed.

After the last round, which ended in early June, the Ukrainian negotiators said Russia had rejected “the unconditional cessation of fire” – a key request of Kiev and its allies in Europe and the United States.

Russia also outlined a list of requests, including Ukraine calls to give way more territory and reject all forms of Western military support.

At that time, Zelenski accused Moscow of “making everything possible to ensure that the next possible meeting is fruitless.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin began a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Currently, Russia controls about 20% of Ukraine’s territory, including the South Crimea Peninsula, implemented in 2014.
