NFL fails in the resale of Super Bowl tickets by players, coaches and club employees.
The league plans to fines more than 100 players and approximately two dozen club employees, which have been found to violate the NFL resale policy in connection with the Super Bowl 59 tickets, according to an internal memorandum by the chief officer for the compliance of the Sabrina league.
An investigation found that these players and staff were selling these tickets to resell “packages” with profit, according to the note.
The players will be fined 1.5 times at the nominal value of the tickets they have sold, and the employees will be fined twice at the nominal value, according to a person familiar with the question that refused to be indicated to speak of unpublished details.
Not a player who is found in a policy violation will also lose the opportunity to buy future NFL tickets, according to the note.
The league prohibits employees and players from selling NFL game tickets acquired by their employer for more than the nominal value of the ticket or more than the initially paid employee – which is less.
The league also takes steps to improve training to follow before the Super Bowl 60 and said it would increase penalties for future crimes.
“No one should benefit from NFL personally at the expense of our fans,” Perell wrote in the note.
