B’Stelem and doctors for the rights of the human-expression have presented the findings of a press conference in Jerusalem

Two leading Israeli rights organizations said Israel’s behavior in the Gaza war was a genocide against the Palestinian population.

B’Sselem and doctors for the rights of the human-Israel have published separate reports on Monday on the basis of studies of the last 21 months conflict.

Organizations that have been active in Israel for decades have said in a joint statement that “in these dark times it is especially important to call them things in their name,” while “calling for this crime to stop immediately.”

A spokesman for the Israeli government said it categorically dismissed the accusations of genocide, which were the first to be made by human rights groups based in Israel.

“Our defense powers are aimed at terrorists and never civilians. Hamas is responsible for suffering in Gaza,” said David Menzer.

At a press conference in Jerusalem on Monday, B’Stlem CEO July Novak said the report of her organization was “the one we never imagined we would have to write.”

The 88 -page document is indicated: “A study of Israel’s policy in the Gaza Strip and its horrific results, along with statements by senior Israeli politicians and military commanders for the purposes of the attack, leads us to the unambiguous conclusion that Israel takes coordinated actions to destroy the Palestinian society intentionally in the Gaza.”

In its 65 -page reportHuman Rights Doctors has said that its legal analysis focused on health found that Israel is aimed at Gaza’s health infrastructure “in a way that is calculated and systematic.”

“Evidence shows a deliberate and systematic dismantling of the health and maintenance systems of gas – through targeted attacks on hospitals, interfere with medical care and evacuation, and the murder and detention of health staff,” the report said.

Dr. Guy Shalev, CEO of Phi, said: “Silence to the genocide is not an option. We want to emphasize: confrating the genocide is not only the responsibility of legal and political institutions.

Organizations have discovered that Israel’s “horrific and criminal attack” on October 7, 2023 is a triggering event that caused fear and collective trauma among Israelis.

However, in their response to the attack, they claim that the Israeli government has launched a campaign based on “promoting extremist ideologies and dehumanization of the Palestinians in Gaza.”

They said it was a reference to the language used by political and military leaders, for soldiers who fight on the ground, which refers to all Palestinians in Gaza as responsible.

Phri concluded that the acts he identified were not casual for war, but part of a deliberate policy aimed at Palestinians as a group “, and in a way that implemented at least three acts defined in Article II of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the crime of the genocide to which Israel had signed.

A number of international rights organizations, human rights experts and scientists have accused Israel of committing a genocide in gas.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) also examines a case brought by South Africa, claiming that the Israeli forces are carrying out a genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel categorically denied the claim and called the case “entirely unfounded” and on the basis of “prejudiced and false statements”.

Dr. Chalev told the BBC that Phi and B’Sselem are concerned that organizations and their staff may be subjected to verbal or physical violence in Israel in response to their reports.

“But we hope people will listen to what we say,” he added.

July Novak from B’Sselem said the process to come to the conclusion that Israel is conducting a genocide has been implemented.

“Let’s really understand that your country, your team, is actually performing genocide, it’s a very difficult mental and personal process,” she said.

“It breaks something very basically in your understanding of who we are.”

Israel began its Gaza war in revenge for Hamas’s attack on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people and led to 251 others to be hostage.

Since then, the Israeli attacks have killed over 59,900 people in Gaza, according to Hamas Health Ministry. The ministry’s numbers are cited by the UN and others as the most reliable source of statistics available to the victims.
