The BBC International editor Jeremy Bowen described the United Kingdom plans to recognize a Palestinian state as a “big change for British foreign policy”.

Prime Minister Sir Kyar Starmer said the United Kingdom would recognize the Palestinian state at a UN meeting in September, unless Israel takes “significant steps to end the horrific situation in Gaza”.

Speaking of Jerusalem, Bowen warned that it was “disappearing unlikely” Israel meets all the conditions that include cessation of fire and commitment to a long -term peace process.
