The Israeli Prime Minister’s service released a statement stating that there was no change in Israel’s policy to maintain the status quo agreement, which allows only Muslim worship there.

Jordan, a guardian of the site, called the last visit to Ben-Gvir an “unacceptable provocation”.

Hamas called it “deepening the ongoing aggression against our Palestinian people,” while spokesman for the President of the Palestinian body, Mahmoud Abbas, said the visit “crossed all red lines”.

The site is the most light place for the Jews because it was the place of two biblical temples. This is the third largest place for Muslims, who believe that it was where the prophet Mohammed went to heaven.

The Palestinians accuse Israel of taking steps to undermine the reservations and to complain that in recent years, Jewish visitors have often been seen praying without being stopped by Israeli police.

WAQF, the Islamic gift that manages the site, said Ben-Gvir is among the 1250 Jews who ascended the Union on Sunday morning.
