A woman has been arrested in the United States on suspicion of being represented as a registered nurse.
A police investigation has launched after the hospital bosses terminated the Autumn Bardis contract due to fears about her qualifications.
Investigators have found that the 29-year-old provided medical services to 4 486 patients between June 2024 and January 2025.
“This is one of the most vague cases of medical fraud we have ever investigated,” said Flagler Rick Steli County Sheriff.
Bardisa was hired by Aventhealth Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast from July 2023 to January 2025.
She is charged with submitting fake documentation and providing a license number belonging to a nurse of the same name hired by Aventhealth at another hospital.
The Sheriff’s service said she had explained the discrepancy, claiming that she had recently married and changed her surname. She was asked to grant her marriage license, but never.
In January, a promotion was offered at Bardis. A colleague told her to the authorities when they realized that her license for nursing assistant had expired.
Her contract was then terminated and a seven -month criminal investigation was launched.
Detectives have complied with an arrest warrant for seven for the practice of a healthcare profession without a license and seven for fraudulent use of personal identification information.
She was arrested, wore a scrub at her home on August 5th.
“This woman potentially puts thousands of lives at risk, pretending to be someone who has not been and violates patients’ confidence, their families, Adventhealth and an entire medical community,” Sheriff Stelie said.
The Sheriff’s Service has created a specialized email address, faakenurscase@flaglersheriff.com, for people who believe they have been treated by the 29-year-old.
Bardisa has been arrested in prisoners in prisoners to hold Sheriff Perry Hall, where she is held on a $ 70,000 bond (about 52,000 pounds).
