United Airlines passengers in the United States face delays after the airline temporarily stopped flights to major airports due to “Technology”.

A ground stop has been issued for the main flight of the departure airports, causing problems at airports, including Chicago, Denver, Houston, San Francisco and New Jersey.

More than 700 united flights have been delayed at 9:00 pm (02:00 BST), according to the FlightAware Flight tracking site.

The flights that were already in the air during the stopping of the earth were able to continue to their destinations.

Regional flights were not affected, but United warned that they could be delayed due to congestion from the grounds on Earth.

One passenger, Jessica Jeffers, told CNN, that she had been stuck for two hours on a plane in Denver in anticipation of going to Newark, New Jersey.

“It was quite rude here,” she said.

Other passengers have complained about social media that they have been stuck on Tarmacs for hours while waiting for news.

The US partner of the BBC, CBS News, said the airline was treating the incident as a preventable delay, which means that it would cover certain costs incurred by passengers.

Transport Secretary Sean Duffy said he had been informed by United and that the issue was not “uninformed with a wider air traffic control system” in the United States.
