US President Donald Trump nominates the State Department spokesman and former FOX News host Tammy Bruce to be the US deputy representative in the United Nations.
In a publication on Truth Social Trump said Bruce, who has been working at the US State Department, since he took office in January, has done “fantastic work” in the role.
Before joining the government, Bruce has been an associate of Fox News conservatives for more than 20 years and has authored several books that have been critical of liberals, including “Fear itself: Exposure to the Left Mind Murder Program.”
It is unclear when she will take on the role if her nomination is confirmed by the Senate.
“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a great patriot, television personality and bestselling author, such as our next deputy representative of the United States in the United Nations organization, with the rank of ambassador,” Trump wrote in a publication on social truth on Saturday.
“Since the beginning of my second term, Tammy has been awarded as a spokesman for the State Department, where she did a fantastic job,” he continued, adding that she would represent the US “brilliant”.
As a spokesman, Bruce defended several controversial US foreign policy decisions – ranging from Trump’s repression to the sending of private military contractors to distribute Gaza assistance.
The Non -nominee for Trump Ambassador to UN Ambassador Mike Walz has not yet been confirmed by the Senate.
The current acting Ambassador to the UN is Dorothy Shea, a career diplomat, who was a deputy, as a matter of 2024.
