Two men and one woman were killed by marine mines while swimming in Odessa, according to Ukrainian media.
A local employee confirmed that the three were killed by “explosive devices”, on beaches, near the sharpening, where resting was prohibited.
The Black Sea has long been a popular holiday destination in Ukraine, but many of its beaches are considered dangerous after the full invasion of Russia.
Officials urged festive people not to swim in forbidden waters.
Witnesses told the local exit Dumskaya that the explosions took place at 11:30 (09:30 BST) on Sunday between Carolino-Buuz and sharpening.
“They were all killed by explosive devices while swimming in areas prohibited for relaxation,” confirmed regional governor Oleh Cyprus.
“This once again proves that being in unverified waters is fatally dangerous.”
Police say they have not yet confirmed the identity of the swimmers and have warned visitors “not to neglect safety measures.”
“It was earlier that three vacationers – a woman and two men – were killed while swimming as a result of two explosions of unknown objects. The identity of the deceased is created,” the police report said.
Thirty two areas are safe to swim, with 30 of them located in Odessa, according to authorities.
