Nvidia and Dilated micro devices have agreed to give the US government a share of revenue from certain chips sold in ChinaThehe Financial Times reportsIn unprecedented arrangement with the White House.
In exchange for 15% of chip sales revenue, the two chipmas will receive export licenses to sell NVIDIA H208 and AMD’s Mi308 chips in China, according to FT.
The agreement comes as president Donald Trump Tariffs continue to be reflected through the world economy, emphasizing the White House’s desire to carve exceptions as a negotiation tool.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met Trump last week, according to FT.
In a statement, Nvidia told The Financial Times: “We follow the rules of the US Government for our participation in the world markets.”
Last week Trump said he would apply 100% Tariff in the import of semiconductors and chips, unless a company is “built in the United States”.
