Social media is always full of bad ideas, terrible analogies and downright stupid observations. But ever since Elon Musk bought Twitter in late 2022, things seem to be getting worse online. And to mark the demise of the once great social media platform, it seems fitting to present a collection of some truly awful tweets from 2024.
Some tweets are funny, some are weird, and others are just plain lies. We couldn’t help but share the most politically extreme and gory tweets that have appeared on X over the past year, even though such tweets technically fall into the “bad” category. Mask, after all, has created a safe space for celebrating Nazism and snuff films, as anyone who still tries to use that site can attest.
To be clear, this list is far from comprehensive. There are too many bad tweets to count But this is just a snapshot of some particularly bad tweets from the past year. Here’s hoping for better tweets in 2025. But we won’t hold our breath on it.

Kasturi donated to a candidate. And that man’s name was Donald J. Trump, the once and future President of the United States of America. The billionaire donated approx $277 million (that we know) in the 2024 election.
In another tweet several months later, Musk denied that he was donating money to Trump. That tweet was eventually deleted when it came out that Musk must have been donating tens of millions to Trump.
