Perside’s annual meteor shower has passed through the night sky through the United Kingdom and around the world over the last few nights.

Bright meteors are formed when the dust particles fall from the Swift-Tutle comet and burn when entering the atmosphere of the Earth.

Astro Dog astronomers, a small astronomical company based in Scarborough, filmed the event from the North York Morse National Park on their peak on August 13th.

To maximize their chances of capturing a shiny show, they used a camera with a “very sensitive sensor and a large aperture”, which was aimed at 45 degrees from the “radiation point” – “where the meteors appear to be emitted by”.

There is still a chance to look at the Perseids or video as they will be active until August 24, according to Astro Dog.
