A Wikipedia editor who diving deeply in articles about Woodard by “Granchast” and decided to find out his name in any other edits. The results of this long and exhausting investigation were written August 9th of the signpostA volunteer managed about Wikipedia’s online newspaper.
The conclusion of the GRNRCHST was directly: “I discovered that I think Wikipedia’s single largest self-promotional operation can be, extending over a decade and has kept about 200 accounts and more proxy IP addresses.”
A network of accounts was identified with unusual interest in Woodard and its activities were mapped over the past decade. Starting in the 21st, these accounts were named “Udard’s” In less than 5 articles (‘Player,’ ‘Brown Pelican,’ and ‘Bundesoutahan’), often referred to self-published sources. ” And it was simply in the English version of Wikipedia.
From 2017 to 2019, accounts “have created articles about at least 92 different languages, created a new article on average every six days … they started with Latin-screen European languages, but quickly promoted all the corners of the world to other families and scripts in all corners of the world; (easily 90 percent or more).”
Granchost reached the conclusion that “these amounts of translations in so many different languages imply that this person was one of the most advanced polyglots in human history, or they were spamming machines translations;
After the reduction of the activity, things continue to grow again in 2021, as the IP addresses around the world began to create wodd references and articles once more. For example, “Canada, Germany, Indonesia, The UK and other places adds some trivia about Udard about 15 Wikipedia articles about Calia Turnifolia“” “
Then things became “more sophisticated”. From December 2021 to 2025, the article about 183 Woodard was created, each in a separate language Wikipedia and each on a unique account. These accounts were followed by a type of behavior: they were created, often with a fair generic name, and a user page with a single image then they then made a few hundred or more small edits before making a dozen or more small edits before the platform disappeared before making an article about David Woodard.

In the end, there are only 20 articles about Woodard This one In English, which does not mention the debate.
We were unable to contact Woodard, whose personal website is password-protected and simply “by invitation” available.
Can the whole thing be any kind of “art project”, the original paofy exposure and writing about? Probably But whatever the purpose behind the decade long effort to encourage Wikipedia, the event reminds us of how many people are willing to do how much effort to explore the pollutants or public faces on their own ends.
