Arab mediators are expecting an official response from Israel after Hamas said he had accepted a new proposal for a fire termination transaction and Gaza hostages.

The plan was represented by Qatar and Egypt, who are trying to prevent a large new Israeli offensive to fully occupy the gas.

Qatar said it was “almost identical” with the US proposal for a 60 -day truce, during which about half of the 50 hostages held in Gaza – 20 of which are thought to be alive – both sides will negotiate permanent termination and return to the others.

In recent days, the Israeli government has said it will no longer accept a partial deal – only a comprehensive one that will see all the hostages released.

The local media cited a senior Israeli employee, saying: “Israel’s position has not changed – the release of all hostages and the implementation of other conditions designated to terminate the war.”

Later this week, the Israeli cabinet is expected to approve the military’s plan to occupy the city of Gaza, where the reinforcement of Israeli strikes has already encouraged thousands of people to escape.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced Israel’s intention to conquer the entire gas – including areas where most of the 2.1 million Palestinian residents have sought asylum – after indirect negotiations with a hammock on the cessation of fire collapsed last month.

On Monday night, a statement by Hamas announced that the armed group and other Palestinian factions had approved a proposal to end the fire presented by the Egyptian and Qataric mediators of their delegations in Cairo the previous day.

Hamas Taher Al Nuno’s employee told Al-Arabi television that they had not sought any changes to the proposal, which he described as “a partial transaction leading to a comprehensive transaction”.

He also stressed that on the first day of its application, the negotiations will start to agree to the steady cessation of the fire.

“We hope that the 60 days of termination of fire will be sufficient to conclude a final agreement, which will completely terminate this war,” he said.

Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman Magend al-Antari told reporters in Doha on Tuesday that the proposal was “98%”, similar to that, represented by the US Middle East, Steve Vikof.

“I will not go into the details of the language that is on the table right now. But what I can say is that it is very close, almost identical to what was there on the table,” Ansari said.

“It’s within the Witkoff plan … This is a continuation of this process. It’s obviously in the details where the devil lies.”

Vitcof had offered a 60-day truce in which Hamas released 10 living hostages and the bodies of 18 dead hostages in two phases, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in Israeli prisons. He also said that negotiations on a final agreement to terminate the war will begin on the first day of the deal.

Israel accepted Vitcof’s plan, but Hamas rejected it, partly because it did not include a guarantee that the temporary cessation of the fire would lead to a constant.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the actions of Israeli military in Gaza put Hamas under “huge pressure”

Israeli media reported that Israeli officials were exploring the new proposal and Hamas’s response.

According to public television operator Kan, Netanyahu has not ruled out the possibility of a partial deal, despite his recent statements that he will only accept a complete deal.

On Saturday night, the office presented him with a statement that says that Israel will “agree to a transaction on condition that all hostages are released in one move and in accordance with our conditions for termination of war.”

These conditions included disarming Hamas, demilitarization of gas, Israeli control over the perimeter of the gas and the installation of negligent and non-Palestinian government, she added.

Netanyahu said on a video on Monday that he discussed with senior Israeli military commanders their “plans for the city of Gaza and the completion of our missions”.

“Like you, I hear the media reports and you can get one impression – Hamas is under enormous pressure,” he added.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump wrote on social media: “We will see the return of the other hostages only when Hamas collects and destroyed !!! The earlier this happens, the better the chances of success will be.”

However, hostage families are afraid of the new offensive in Gaza, they could threaten those who are held there.

On Sunday night, hundreds of thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv to ask for their government to agree with Hamas to end the war now and return all hostages to home. Netanyahu accused the protesters of hardening Hamas’s position.

The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.

Since then, at least 62,004 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the health ministry in the territory.

The greater part of the gas population has also been replaced repeatedly; More than 90% of homes are estimated to be damaged or destroyed; Health, water, sanitary and hygiene systems have collapsed; And the UN-backed global food security experts have warned that “the worst hunger scenario is currently being played out” due to food shortages.
