Exclusive: Google Pixel Watch 4 Teardown Shows Easy Repairability

There are two T2 screws at the bottom of the watch band’s pocket – unscrew them and you can access the internals of Pixel Watch 4, no need to be hot with any glue. At this stage, the biosensor hub, which keeps the heart rate monitor and other sensors behind the clock, is still connected. Google has deliberately created it so that the battery replacement does not require the removal of this connector. To remove the battery, remove the Haptic Motor with the T2 head on the torque screwdriver. Two more screws hold the battery, but once you go out, you can disconnect the battery from the board and complete. You will notice that Google has used T2 screws across the whole process. This is deliberate, because you can use the same torque screwdriver for battery replacement, reduce the number of equipment required for repair. To replace the display, you need to unplug the Biosensor Hub. Then disconnect the battery brackets, plug the display connector, and the glass is the four screws that contain the houses. (These are a mixture of T2 and T5 Screws)
