UN requires justice over Israeli double strike at Gaza Hospital

The UN said that “there should be justice” after Israel’s double strike at Gaza Hospital, which died at least 20 people, as the original Israeli military probe said the strike was aimed at a “Hamas camera”.

The condemnation of the attack, whose victims included five journalists and four healthcare professionals, diverged, with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Kiir Starmer describing him as “completely uncertain.”

Speaking of past Israeli death investigations in Gaza, he added: “These investigations must produce results. There must be justice. We have not yet seen results or accountability measures.”

In its statement, the IDF said it identified a camera located by Hamas in the hospital area “used to monitor the activities of IDF troops”.

“The troops operated to eliminate the threat by hitting and dismantling the camera,” the statement said. Six of the killed are said to be “terrorists”.

Later, a military spokesman said that journalists working for Reuters and the Associated Press were not a target.

The IDF report seems to be a change in the tone of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s statement on Monday night, which characterizes the incident as a “tragic accident”.

However, IDF did not explain why a second attack began minutes after the first. Instead, he said that a further investigation was needed in the permission process, including the ammunition used and the “decision-making process by the military in the district”.
