Taylor Swift has announced his engagement with his partner Travis Kels, sharing a series of photos, including one of the ring, on Instagram.
The post was accompanied by the inscription: “Your English teacher and your fitness teacher got married.”
However, not every English teacher can afford a diamond ring that costs six or even seven figures, however.
Fans and curious viewers share their opinions about the proposal and the attracting ring.
@Taylorswift/instagramExperts in the industry have estimated it can cost £ 500,000 to £ 4 million, said Ruth Folkner, managing editor of a retail jewelers magazine.
The diamond looked like 8-10 carat vintage stone, which Mrs. Volker said was “quite rare” for an antique piece.
Jewelry journal Rachel Taylor said that the soft sparkle of the stone is probably because it is anti -cut by hand, not by a machine.
She added that Swift’s ring is a trend in vintage styles with different cuts and large stones, which fits into the “romantic” aesthetics of the singer.
“Every time the celebrity gets married, if their ring is particularly excellent, it will always arouse a little interest in this,” added G -Ja Folker.
@Dualipa/InstagramThe general trends are inclined to larger stones for both celebrities and public – but the stars choose statements to separate them, Rona Fitzpatrick, founder and CEO of Diamond Expert, told BBC News.
Rings spotted on the fingers of different celebrities this year – such as the unusual horizontally loaded horizontally on Diamond and the Diamond circle of Dua Lipa on a golden strip – show preference for a larger stone in a less traditional setting.
Even when celebrities adhere to trends – like large, oval diamonds – they tend to do it in an extravagant way that is more difficult to repeat.
Matt Winkelmeyer/Wireimage through Getty ImagesCristiano Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez, made titles when she shared a photo of the ring she received from the football player this month.
It is reported that the huge, oval cutting scale worth up to $ 5 million (3.7 million pounds), said G -ju Fitzpatrick.
“This is not the species of the ring that you would jump into Tesco,” she added.
Following Rodriguez’s announcement, some bridal jewelry suppliers began to bring their own take on the ring.
“It is much harder for everyday people to afford the same price,” said Mrs. Fitzpatrick, adding that some jewelers instead choose cheaper diamonds raised in the laboratory as a way to take care of a greater variety of styles.
@Georginagio/InstagramThis alternative is increasingly popular, said Mrs. Fitzpatrick, adding that about 52% of the world engagement rings now have laboratory diamonds.
Some customers also choose a laboratory for ethical reasons- but Mrs. Taylor said the debate is not as simple as it seems.
Laboratory grown is not automatically more resilient than natural extracted stones, as the process uses a significant amount of energy.
D -Ja Taylor said that some communities are financially dependent on the industry and rely on it for survival. However, there are concerns about working conditions in diamond mines.
“While buying from a reliable source that cleanses the environment and takes care of the participating communities,” said G -Ja Taylor, “You have to decide what is more important to you?”
She added that ethics around ancient diamonds like Swift is also complicated.
“Vintage can be a more ethical choice, but its origin and history that you don’t have to know,” said Da Taylor.
Buying ancient diamonds means not additional yield, but you also “have no idea what circumstances were obtained,” she added.
“If we were talking 100 plus years ago, this circumstance was probably not very nice.”
Buyers are increasingly becoming a rearrangement of vintage pieces to create something more convenient, said G -Jia Folkner.
Couples will often choose to reuse jewelry with “history behind it,” she said, as pieces that are transmitted by relatives.
Although it is not known if Swift ring has a background, it is obviously pleased with the choice. But if her texts have something to go, this is the most important.
“I like shiny things, but I would marry you with paper rings,” she sang in her song, paper rings.
