Israeli drones near Damascus killed six Syrian soldiers, Syria’s government said in a series of reported attacks this week.
The Syria Foreign Ministry condemned the strike on Tuesday as a violation of international law and a violation of its sovereignty.
After more strikes on Wednesday, the Israeli forces made an air landing at a former military site in the area, the international and Syrian state media report. The reports differ in what they have done and how long they have remained.
The Israeli military told the BBC that it did not comment on foreign reports. Defense Minister Israel Katz published on X on Thursday that “the forces work on all combat zones day and night for Israel’s security.”
Israel carried out dozens of attacks Through Syria, after the fall of former President Bashar al -Assad in December, with a government led by Islamist created by former rebels. At that time, Israel said it was acting to stop the weapons that fall “in the hands of extremists.”
This year, Israel has carried out 95 attacks – 85 air beats and 10 ground operations – according to the British Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The attack on Tuesday happened as the Syrian troops tried to cope with “observation and eavesdropping on devices” discovered during a field tour near Al-Qiva, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reports.
Further air strikes followed Wednesday, with about 10 km (six miles) from the place where the temporary president of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa attended the Damascus International Fair, Sohr reported.
Little details were available at the landing of the Israeli forces in a former military place, which was reported on Wednesday night.
Sana reported that Israeli planes began several attacks, followed by Airdrop, “the details of which are yet to be determined.”
The Syrian military source told Al Jazeera that the operation included dozens of soldiers with search equipment that had stayed at the site for more than two hours.
Two Syrian army sources told Reuters that the troops were conducting landing, but withdrew afterwards without more details.
The reported series of attacks this week comes when the two sides are involved in conversations about deconfaction.
In July, Israel bombed the Syrian government forces around Suwisa south of the country when the army entered the predominantly urban city after deadly sectarian clashes.
Israel’s Prime Minister said he had ordered strikes by strength and weapons, as the government “intends to use (them) against Druza.” Syria has condemned the July attacks, which she believed led to the death of members of the armed forces and civilians.
There is also a population of Druze, whose religion is the offspring of Shiite Islam with its own unique identity and beliefs in Israel.
