Russia has launched a “large -scale” attack overnight in the southern and central regions of Ukraine, authorities said when Kiev struck Russian oil refineries.
One woman was killed in the attachment and 28 people were injured – including three children – according to local officials.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said Moscow launched over 500 drones and 45 rockets, hitting 14 regions across the country.
Following the attack, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement all “the goals of the strike were achieved” and “the designated sites are affected”.
The railway infrastructure was damaged near Kiev, but it was central and southeastern Ukraine that carried the main weight of the latest blows.
Emergency services have been observed fires in the attachment, while explosions have been heard in the central eastern regions of DNiPro and Pavlohrad.
Meanwhile, the military in Ukraine said it had hit Russia Krasnodar and oil refineries in Sisran overnight. Both refineries have been directed before.
The Ukrainian military said there are “multiple explosions and fires in the facility”, which they believe produce a volume of three million tonnes a year.
The Russian authorities in Krasnodar have admitted that the drone strikes from Kyiv struck their oil refinery. It says one of the processor units is damaged and a fire has arisen in the area. It said there were no casualties.
The Russian Ministry of Defense added that it had removed 20 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 18 above the annexed Crimea.
The Russian military also said that it had taken a rural settlement in Donetsk on Saturday morning – Komisheva. Ukraine has not confirmed this.
The beats between the warring countries follow diplomatic efforts, led by the US, aimed at ending the war that remain stagnant so far.
Zelenski said recent attacks show that “disregard for the words” of Russia, adding that the only way to deal with Russia is to impose sanctions.
“We expect actions from the US, Europe and the whole world,” he said.
European foreign ministers are in Denmark this weekend to discuss international development – including the war in Ukraine.
One of the key issues is the ability to freeze approximately € 210 billion (181.7 billion) Russian assets.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kalas, who is on the gathering, said it was clear that Russia did not want peace, despite diplomatic efforts.
France has said it will use the collection to make new sanctions against Russia in order to exhaust “the resources that Russia invests in this war,” Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Baro has been quoted by Russian State Agency Tas.
