In Senate’s fiery testimonies this week, US Minister of Health Robert Kennedy, Jr., once again directed his views of the best public health agency in the country, CDC control and prevention centers (CDC).

Its appearance came days after suddenly fired the new CDC director Susan Monres, provoking a group of senior officials to resign in protest.

At the hearing, when he was asked for an explanation, Kennedy claimed to have asked G -ja Monarez if she was a “reliable man” and she answered “no”, to some distrust of his opponents in the room.

He then admitted that he once described the CDC as the “most corrupt” agency in the government and strongly hinted that he did not end with his plans to shake the organization.

Kennedy’s words have caused a fierce reaction, with many doctors and scientists being increasingly worried that public health systems in America are dangerously compromised.

It is a conflict that could have a significant impact not only on health policy in the United States, but throughout the world. In the past, CDC played an important role in global health, leading the reaction to crises of hunger, HIV, and Ebola.

Founded in 1946, CDC monitors infectious diseases such as Covid and also has the task of dealing with long -term or chronic conditions such as heart disease and cancer.

He operates over 200 specialized laboratories and employs 13,000 people, although this number has been reduced by about 2000 after President Donald Trump returned to his post.

It does not approve of or license vaccines. This responsibility lies in the Food and Drug Administration.

But it makes formal recommendations who should get which vaccines through an expert group – known as the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) – and monitors their side effects and other safety problems.

Vaccine dispute

It was Kennedy’s recording of vaccines that many public health experts were particularly worried when he took office in February.

An activist group, which he has managed for eight years, has repeatedly questioned the safety and efficacy of vaccination.

He described Covid Jab as “the most pollution in history” and accuses the growing percentages of vaccine autism, an idea that has been definitely debunked by major research for many years.

Thus, the feathers were seriously broken just weeks after his term, when he emerged that he had hired a remarkable critic of the vaccine David Gayer to look at CDC data again about this scientifically denied relationship.

Then, in June, Kennedy suddenly fired the entire ACIP panel, which advised the CDC on the eligibility of the vaccine after accusing all 17 members of being “struck by a constant conflict of interest”.

A new committee, selected by the administration, now has the power to change or even miss critical recommendations of Americans’ immunization for certain diseases, as well as to form a childhood vaccination program, although CDC itself still has the last word to adopt this advice.

This is this decision, which is now related to the dismissal of the new agency director at the end of August, only 29 days in work.

In an article in a newspaper this week, Mrs. Monarez said she was fired by CDC after Kennedy was told to “pre-approach” the recommendations of the ACIP Committee, for which she, in her opinion, was filled with people who have expressed “Antivak Rhetoric.”

“It is imperative that the panel’s recommendations are not concluded with a tire, but instead should be examined strictly and scientifically before being accepted or rejected,” she writes.

“I lost my job, the children of America could lose a lot more.”

In her testimony, Kennedy stood on her ground, accusing her of lying to this exchange and describing her dismissal as “absolutely necessary.”

“We need a bold, competent and creative new guide in CDC, people capable and ready to outline a new course,” he said.

The dismissal of G -ja Monarez has led to a new wave of resignation at the agency, while senior staff continues to go out.

In the last two weeks, CDC has lost its Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Immunization and the Director of New Diseases, among others.

“A huge highest level of CDC management has been removed, but this is also after the dismissal of thousands of CDC workers, including many respected experts,” says Dr. Fiona Havers, a senior vaccine researcher who resigned from the agency in June.

“I am a doctor and for my own whole as a scientist I did not feel that I could continue to serve in this administration when I felt that the data we put together would not be used in a proven, science -based way.”

Kennedy was also criticized by some CDC officials for what they think was an inconvenient firing response at the Atlanta Agency’s headquarters in August.

The Sagittarius who said the Covid vaccine was ill, killed a police officer before turning the weapon on himselfS

Kennedy visited the offices afterwards, but he did not meet with staff members and continued to criticize the agency’s performance.

However, he began his testimony this week with a tribute to David Rose, the police officer who died in the shooting.

For the time being, Jim O’Neal, one of Kennedy’s best advisers, has been tapped to manage CDC temporarily until a new permanent director can be found.

G -n O’Neal played several roles in the health department with President George at Bush, but he has a business, not scientific experience.

“During the previous administration, CDC lost public confidence by manipulating healthcare data to support a political story,” he wrote on social media on the day he was appointed.

“We help the agency win the confidence it has wasted.”

More changes are certainly likely.

In the hearing of the Senate, Kennedy said CDC lied to Americans in the pandemic for wearing a mask, social distancing, and the ability of the vaccine to stop the transmission of a coronavirus.

“I have to fire some of these people and make sure that this will not be repeated,” he said.

Global consequences

The next Flashpoint may come later this month.

On September 18, the new vaccine consultation panel should be found to discuss fork and other photos, including hepatitis B and RSV virus.

The recommendations of the panel and the CDC response will be carefully considered not only in the US but around the world.

“What is happening in America is of great importance,” says Anthony Costello, a former director of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Professor of Public Health at London University College.

“We have done so much to protect science from political intervention over the last 200 years, and the anxiety is that America will pay a price for it and we can, if we go in that direction.”

In the past, CDC teams also played a major practical role in global health protection.

In 2015, for example, the agency had 3,000 employees working on the Ebola epidemic in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, with 1200 of those on Earth in West Africa.

After taking office, President Trump withdrew the US from the WHO and ordered the CDC to interrupt all communication with the organization.

The concern of former CDC employees such as D -Rion Havers is what can happen if and when the next Ebola or Covid is eventually noticed and begins to spread.

“The adoption of the CDC Qualda and the undercut of his programs left the United States much less prepared for another pandemic,” she says.

“And this really has huge consequences worldwide if another health emergency situation arises.”
