Andrew Garfield Is Getting His Spider-Man 4 Denials in Early

Although Andrew Garfield was in Spider-Man: No Way Home, He was forced to deny it. That’s why knowing he’s not in the upcoming sequel, set in 2026, doesn’t really hold much weight.

“I will disappoint you,” Garfield told GQ When he was asked if he had signed on for the upcoming fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man. “Yes, no. But I know no one will believe me from now on.” That odd choice of words brings us back to 2021, Garfield was asked many times about being present No Way Home. “Listen, I can’t speak for anyone else,” the actor said at the time. “They might be doing something, but I didn’t get a call.” Of course, we now know Garfield didn’t just get a call, he played a major role in the movie. It just had to be so secretive, he was forced to lie to protect the secret.

This time though, we think his statement has a little more authority. Officially little known About the sequel beyond its release date (July 24, 2026), its director (Destin Daniels Crayton), and its stars (Tom Holland and Zendaya, to boot). Producer Amy Pascal also confirmed that it will continue the story from the end of the last film where Peter Parker (Holland) made the whole world forget about him to save it. So, we assume, we’ll still be up with Peter Parker as Spider-Man, in a world where no one knows who Peter Parker is, or that he’s Spider-Man. Which is a very blank slate.

Could that story be based in or around New York City? of course Could it be another massive multiversal adventure? absolutely And if it’s the latter, does that mean this Peter Parker will be reunited with his versatile friends Peter Two (Tobey Maguire) and Peter Three (Garfield)? sure But we just have a feeling that when that happens—not if, but when—it will be a little later. probably in Avengers: Secret WarsWhich comes out next summer.

And whether that would happen or not, Garfield wouldn’t be able to say.
