Mike Hukabi, Ambassador of the United States to Israel, told Laura Quensberg to the BBC that he plans to recognize a Palestinian state, has “catastrophic consequences”.

Prime Minister Sir Kayer Starmer said the United Kingdom would recognize the Palestinian state in September, unless Israel meets certain conditions, including agreeing to the cessation of fire in Gaza and to revive the prospect of the decision of two countries.

Australia, France, Japan and Canada have made similar reports in support of the recognition of the Palestinian state.

The Israeli government says the recognition “rewards Hamas’s monstrous terrorism”, that there is no “Palestinian) Peace Partner.”

The state of Palestine is currently recognized by 147 of the 193 UN Member States.

France, Canada and the United Kingdom will be the first states of the G7 to do so.
