Hamas says he has received “some ideas” from the United States through mediators on how to reach an agreement to terminate the fire of gas.
The Palestinian armed group said he was discussing how to develop ideas, noting that she was ready to release her 48 remaining hostages in Gaza in exchange for a “clear” declaration that terminated the war.
A Palestinian employee told the BBC that the US plan would see the hostages released in the first 48 hours of a 60-day truce in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons and conscientious negotiations for a permanent termination of fire.
He came after US President Donald Trump gave Hamas what he called “the last warning” to agree with a deal. He said Israel has accepted its conditions without giving details.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has said he is ready to agree to a deal that ends the war that will include the release of all hostages – only 20 of which are thought to be alive – and the disarmament of Hamas.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned approximately one million Palestinians living in the city city of Gaza to evacuate immediately, as the Israeli military intensified the offensive to conquer him.
“In the last two days, we have removed 50 terrorist tall buildings and this is just the beginning of the ground operation in Gaza,” he said in a video. “I tell the residents of Gaza: You were warned, get out of there.”
Hospitals said Israeli attacks killed at least 40 people in Gaza on Monday, including 25 in Gaza and elsewhere in the north.
The Israeli military said four soldiers were killed in a battle in North Gaza.
On Sunday evening, Hamas presented a statement stating that he “received through mediators some ideas from the US side aimed at reaching an agreement to end fire” and that it welcomed the initiative.
“Movement is in constant contact with intermediaries to develop these ideas in a comprehensive agreement that meets the needs of our people,” he added.
Hamas said he was ready to immediately negotiate the release of all who were taken hostage during the group attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, in exchange for a “clear statement of termination of war, complete withdrawal from Gaza and the formation of a Palestinian independent committee for gas management.”
Earlier during the day, US President Donald Trump had written to Truth Social: “Everyone wants to hostage at home. Everyone wants this war to end! The Israelis have accepted my conditions. It’s time to accept Hamas.”
“I warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will be no other!”
A senior Palestinian employee familiar with the fire termination efforts told the BBC that, according to the US proposal, all hostages would be released within the first 48 hours of a 60-day truce in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, including those who were lifelong and other long-term.
According to the employee, the proposal also includes a personal guarantee from the US president that both countries will be conducting conscientious negotiations to end the war.
During the first two weeks of the armistice, negotiations will cover key issues, including the disarmament of Hamas, the formation of an independent governing body or administrative committee in Gaza and arrangements for the withdrawal of Israeli troops, the employee said. Humanitarian aid will also go to Gaza openly.
The frame seems to be aimed at creating a way to a wider agreement, paying attention to immediate humanitarian and security.
Israeli media have quoted political sources, saying that Israel is “seriously considering” the US plan, but also that Hamas would probably have difficulty accepting it.
On Monday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said at a press conference in Budapest: “President Trump said it was clear yesterday, Israel said yes to his proposal. We are ready to accept a full deal to end the war based on the cabinet’s decision.
“Two things have to happen. One, the return of our hostages … (two), Hamas must put his hands.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz at the same time warned Hamas: “Release the hostages and leave your weapons – or gas will be destroyed and you will be destroyed.”
The Israeli military is strengthening their air and terrestrial attacks against the city of Gaza, and on Monday, a fourth tall building was destroyed in an air strike for so many days.
Video footage checked by the BBC showed that the Al-Roya 2 building was collapsed after being struck by two shells.
Prior to the strike, the Israeli military ordered dozens of displaced families that sheltered inside the building to evacuate along those who lived in tents were placed in the vicinity.
The military said that Hamas fighters responsible for installing “intelligence and explosive devices” worked near the building and “used it throughout the war to plan and improve terrorist attacks against (Israeli) forces.”
“We don’t know what to do and where to go. The bombing is crazy,” said Janin Zoarob, a displaced woman who lived in one of the tents, “Reuters told the Reuters Agency. “I’m afraid of my children, I’m afraid of myself, and I’m afraid of those around me.”
On Saturday, Israel directed the displaced people to target a newly designated “humanitarian zone” in South Gaza for their “safety”. The area is less than 43 square km (17 square miles), which is equivalent to about 12% of the territory.
The military said there was a major humanitarian infrastructure. However, the UN said that the tent camps were already overcrowded there and that hospitals work several times above capacity.
The head of the humanitarian humanitarian Tom Fletcher also warned that the window was closing quickly to prevent hunger in the city of Gaza – which was confirmed last month by global food security experts – to spread to the central city of Deir Al Balah and the southern city of Khan ENNIS.
He called on the humanitarian aid to be allowed on a scale and on a scale, as well as for the protection of civilians, the termination of fire and the release of the hostages.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
At least 64,522 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in the territory.
The ministry also says that 393 people have so far died during the war as a result of malnutrition and hunger, including six in the last 24 hours.
