Conservative activist Charlie Kirk has died after being shot at an event at the University of Utah, President Donald Trump announced on social media.

“The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead,” writes Truth Social President. “Nobody understood or had the heart of young people in the United States of America better than Charlie.”

Kirk, a fiery supporter of Trump, was the founder of Turning Point USA, a group that seeks to distribute conservative ideas for students in US campuses.

Officials say he just started talking when I rang a single rifle. The videos checked by the BBC show that he rolls back on his chair as the students spray themselves in panic.

A spokesman for the University of Utah, Ellen Treanor, said the shooting was coming from the loss center, a building of about 200 yards.

Another spokesman, Scott Trotter, told the BBC: “A single shot near the food court at the University of Utah Orem appeared in the square footage when Charlie Kirk began talking to his planned rally.”

“We can confirm that G -n Kirk was shot, but we don’t know his condition,” he said.

The BBC Cerify confirmed the authenticity of several shooting videos posted online.

One video shows that students are crowded around a white tent, emanated with the words, “American return” and “prove me wrong.”

Charlie Kirk can be seen sitting alone under the tent with several other nearby.

In another video confirmed by the BBC, the Kirk shows talking to the rally for about four seconds before a rifle is heard.

Then it seems to move back on his chair before the camera sneaks and the crowd begins to panic.

According to CBS, the US partner of the BBC, D -N -Kirk, was heard to discuss violence with a gun in the United States at times before being shot.

“Do you know how many mass shooters have had in America in the last ten years?” A member of the audience asks him.

“Counting or not counting a gang violence,” he replies, before the shot holds.

As the news fell apart, politicians from the whole political spectrum, as well as the right influences, condemned the attack.

“The FBI and ATP agents are on the way. Pray for Charlie,” writes General Prosecutor Pam Bondi, the highest-ranking employee of US law enforcement.

Health secretary Robert Kennedy wrote, “We love you Charlie Kirk. We pray for you.”

California governor Gavin Newo, a Democrat and one of Trump’s best political rivals, called the attack “disgusting, disgusting and reprimanding.

“In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in any form.”

A former Utah Congressman, who witnessed the attack described to Fox News how “all hit the deck” and “scattered” after hearing a rifle.

“His shot came straight,” said Jason Chafets, adding that he had talked to Kirk just before the event began.

In the White House, several of the Trump press staff reacted with a visible shock.

An assistant exclaimed, “Oh my God, Charlie Kirk is shot!” – extracting from colleagues.
