NASA US Space Agency blocks Chinese citizens with valid US visas from its facilities – a move that effectively prevents them from working in one of the most respected space research centers.

Chinese citizens who can only work in NASA as contractors or students who contribute to research on September 5 that they have lost all access to NASA’s systems and facilities, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources.

NASA then confirmed this, saying that Chinese citizens would be limited to using “Agency’s facilities, materials and networks to ensure the security of our work.”

The Chinese accelerated space program worried the United States and increased the race between the two largest economies.

Chinese astronauts are already excluded from the International Space Station (ISS) as Washington has banned NASA from sharing its data with China.

The last NASA limit only adds the reduction of scientific cooperation between the two countries due to fears of national security.

As they compete to gain technological advantage, Beijing and Washington are also becoming more and more careful to each other.

Suspicion makes it difficult for some Chinese students, especially those who learn science and technology, receive visas or even enter the United States after providing a visa.

Recently, there are several cases of alleged spy in Chinese citizens in the United States, and more specifically, scientists have fallen under the scanner.

It is unclear how much news NASA gave to Chinese citizens who worked for the agency. Bloomberg News reported that they had suddenly found that they were denied access to agency data systems and were banned from participating in meetings related to their work – both personally and virtually.

NASA’s press secretary Vitani Stevens told newsletters that NASA has indeed taken “internal actions related to Chinese citizens – including limiting access to physical and cybersecurity to our facilities.”

China has not made a secret to its cosmic ambitions, with Beijing and Washington competing to send their crew to the moon.

“We are currently in a second space race,” NASA Administrator Sean Duffy said to a press conference reporters on Wednesday, where he talks about Mars’s discoveries.

“The Chinese want to return to the moon before us. This will not happen.”

The director of the General Technology Bureau of the Chinese Space Agency for Space Space Agency last year said US concerns were “unnecessary”, calling a Chinese space study “A Collective Mission to Humanity”.

During the US Senate hearing last week, legislators stressed the need for the United States to put their boots on the moon before China.

“China has not made a secret to its goals,” said Republican Senator Ted Cruz. “(If) our opponents achieve dominant space capabilities, it would be a deep risk to America … (bets) cannot be higher.”

The race is not just about reaching the moon. It is also who can control his resources after they are there.

The moon contains minerals, including rare lands, metals such as iron and titanium – and helium, which are also used in everything from superconductors to medical equipment.
