Thabo Bester from South Africa in a judicial offer to block the issuance of a documentary on Nextflix

One of the most famous rapists and murderers in South Africa, Tabo Besto, took court action to block Netflix from broadcasting a documentary about his life – including how he allegedly falsified his death and escaped from prison.

His lawyers claim that beauty is best slandered, but the stream giant defended its plan to release the three-piece investigation.

Bester’s partner, the celebrity doctor Nandi Magudumana, is distinguished in the documentary, and he supposedly helped him escape. It is part of the court’s proposal to stop the release.

The Supreme Court is expected to give its decision about 30 minutes before the planned documentary in front of a global audience on Friday.

Bester was sentenced in 2012 for raping and killing his girlfriend on the model Nomfundo Tijulu.

A year earlier, he was found guilty of rape and robbing two other women.

Bester became known as a “Facebook rape” for the use of the social networking site to lure its victims.

He serves a life sentence when he allegedly escaped from prison for maximum security in 2022.

A fire broke out in prison, with authorities finding a charred body that they believe was gaired. However, it turned out that this was another person.

Understanded for a year, then Bester lived under the nickname in the main city of South Africa, Johannesburg, assisted by his partner.

The couple was arrested during a run in the East African state of Tanzania in April 2023 and were deported.

They are currently in custody, in anticipation of a lawsuit on several charges – including a corpse breach, beating the edges of justice and fraud.

They have not yet pleaded the charges.

Bester’s lawyer, lawyer Mofrica, Mila, said the documentary had violated his right to a fair trial.

“There is no evidence that he has escaped. He has not yet been convicted on this issue. There are many reasons why a person is no longer in prison, as a conditional release. The documentary is a kangaroo court,” he told the Court of Africa.

The lawyer also claims that the very name of the documentary “Beauty and the best, was defamatory and intentionally created to throw his client as a” beast “, East Coast’s local radio reports on his website.

Netflix’s legal representative, the Tembeka NGCUKAITOBI lawyer, told the court that a three -piece series is giving the victims a long -term platform.

“This documentary gives the victims of the Thabo Bester platform that will be heard after years of silence. To remain silent, the movie is to silence them again,” says NGCUKAITOBI.

Judge Sut Poteril asked Netflix when she intended to release the documentary and said she would give her a decision shortly before.

The alleged escape of Bester made international titles and provoked outrage in South Africa, which has one of the highest percentages of sexual assault in the world.
