Google and PayPal team up on agentic commerce

Pepper Declaration On Wednesday, a new many-year partnership with Google will see the payment giant using Google’s AI technology to create a new AI-driven shopping experience. PayPal solutions, already, will be integrated into Google products and PayPal will work on Google Cloud to host and improve its technology infrastructure.

The agencies did not give up what they would work together to create a certain type of agent shopping, but Google would contribute to its AI technology and skills and PayPal would earn its global payment infrastructure, personalization and identity solutions.

Also, both agencies will join others for advice on Google’s new acceptance Agent Payment Protocol announced on TuesdayThe This Open Protocol is meant to enable the purchases starting by AI agents and has already supported more than 60 merchants and financial institutions.

As part of the agreement, PayPal will be listed as the main payment supplier for the card issuing the card in areas like Google Cloud, Google Ads and Google Play. Other products integrated by Google include PayPal’s branded checkout, Hyperwalkt Payment Service, and PayPal Payment Service.
