SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korean investigators again asked the country’s acting president on Saturday to comply with an arrest warrant issued by the presidential security service for President Yoon Suk-yeol.

The security services prevented prosecutors from arresting them in a six-hour standoff with military personnel in Yoon’s compound on Friday. Investigators obtained a warrant for Yon’s arrest in connection with his brief declaration of martial law last month.

The High Officials Corruption Investigation Bureau, which is investigating the case, on Saturday again asked Acting President Choi Sang-mok to order the presidential security office, which is the country’s finance minister.

A spokesman for the finance ministry declined to comment.

Police have requested Park Chong-joon, head of the presidential security service, to come in for questioning on Tuesday, Yonhap News reported.

UN’s Dec. 3 martial declaration shocked South Korea and prompted the first arrest warrant for the acting president.
