Dutch police use tear gas and a water cannon to disperse violent anti -immigration protesters in The Hague on Saturday.
Thirty people were arrested and two officers wounded as large groups of people collided with police, with some throwing rocks and bottles.
About 1500 people were blocked a highway crossing the city while a police car was set on fire, Dutch news agency Anp said, citing police data.
Prime Minister Dick Drove has condemned the “shocking and bizarre images of shameless violence,” saying it is “completely unacceptable.”
Right -wing Geert Wilders, who won the previous elections in the Netherlands and retained his leading role in public opinion studies before the October 29 vote, was invited to speak to the demonstration but did not attend.
Instead, he also condemned the violence against the police as “completely unacceptable”, saying it was the work of “idiots”.
The protest was organized by a right activist, requiring more stringent migration policies and limiting asylum seekers.
Violence erupted when large groups of protesters, many waving Dutch flags and flags related to far -right groups, have encountered security forces.
EPAProtesters also broke the windows of the D66 party headquarters in the center of the center, viewed by many in the far right as a party that serves a progressive elite.
D66 leader Rob Jaton said the damage inside was extensive and told protesters to “stay away from political parties.”
“If you think you can intimidate us, difficult luck. We will never allow extremist riots to take away our beautiful country,” he told the social media platform X.
No one was present in the D66 offices during the protests, according to party officials, quoted by ANP.
The Dutch government collapsed in June after Wilders withdrew its final PVV party from the ruling coalition after a migration dispute.
The dispute came after Wilders insisted on 10 additional asylum measures, including freezing applications, stopping the construction of foster centers and limiting family unification.
The governing coalition was available for less than one year.
