US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claim that they have agreed a new peace plan for gas and have warned Hamas to accept it.
The plan proposes an immediate termination of military operations, with Hamas releasing 20 living Israeli hostages and the remains of more than two dozen hostages, who are thought to be dead within 72 hours, in exchange for hundreds of detainees.
The Palestinian Source, familiar with the negotiations to end the fire, told the BBC that Hamas employees had received the White House proposal with 20 points.
It requires Hamas not to play a role in gas management and leaves the door open to a possible Palestinian state.
Speaking at a press conference after conversations in the White House, Trump called the Plan “Historical Day for Peace”.
But he said that Netanyahu would make us support ourselves to do what he had to do if Hamas disagreed with the plan.
Then Netanyahu said Israel “will finish the job” if Hamas rejects the plan or does not follow.
British Prime Minister Sir Kayer Starmer welcomed the plan, saying: “We urge all countries to gather and work with the US administration to finalize this Agreement and bring it to reality. Hamas now has to agree to the plan and to end the misery by putting on his weapons and liberating all the other hostage.”
The proposal, if followed, will begin with the immediate termination of military operations. In addition, it is said that existing “combat lines” will be frozen in place until the conditions for gradual withdrawal are met.
According to the plan, Hamas would put his weapons, and the tunnels and facilities for the production of weapons would be destroyed.
The plan also says that after the 20 Living Israeli hostages and the remains of hostages, who are thought to be dead, Israel will release hundreds of detained Gazani.
For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 dead Gazani, the plan said.
He also added that after both parties agree to the proposal “Full help will be sent immediately to the Gaza Strip”.
The United States also outlines its plan for the future Gaza management. It says that “technocratic, Apolitic Palestinian Committee” will temporarily govern “with supervision and supervision from a new international transitional body called the Peace Council, which will be led by Trump.
Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair and other leaders “declared” would also be part of the governing body. Blair called the plan “brave and intelligent”.
The plan adds that Hamas should not play a role in government, “directly, indirectly or in any form.”
Much of the plan focuses on what the United States calls a “economic development plan” to restore gas. In addition, it is said that “Israel will not occupy or annex gas” and its forces will withdraw from the territory in stages in time.
In shift from Trump’s softerThe Palestinians will not be forced to leave the gas and instead the document is said, “We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better gas.”
The plan also leaves the door open to a possible Palestinian state.
The Palestinian Source, familiar with the negotiations to end the fire, told the BBC that “the Qatar and Egyptian officials handed over the White House plan to end the war in the Hamas Gaza in Doha.”
Earlier, a senior Hamas official told the BBC that the group remains open to the study of any proposal that may end the war in Gaza, but stressed that every agreement should defend the Palestinian interests, ensure complete withdrawal of Israeli from Gaza and lead to an end.
Asked about the group’s weapons, the employee said: “The weapons of resistance are a red line as long as the occupation continues.
“The issue of weapons can only be discussed within a political decision, which guarantees the creation of an independent Palestinian state at the 1967 borders.”
The announcement of the plan comes just days after Netanyahu attacked the recognition of a Palestinian state by many Western countries during a combat speech at the UN General Assembly.
Netanyahu labeling the recognition, moves a “brand of shame”, which sent the message that “the murder of Jews is paying off.”
Dozens of officials and diplomats organized a walk as he got on the podium, leaving large parts of the conference empty.
While Trump has steadily supported Netanyahu since he returned to the White House for a second term, he has been increasingly disappointed with him in recent weeks.
Trump expressed annoyance from Israel’s recent strike against Hamas members in a key ally of the United States Qatar.
Prior to the press conference on Monday, Netanyahu called Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim al-Thani of Qatar from the White House to express his deep regret that Israel’s rocket strike was involuntarily killed the Qatari serviceman.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.
At least 66,055 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in the territory.
Recently, not supported by the UN, the body-supported body confirmed that the hunger was being held in Gaza. Earlier this month, the UN Investigative Committee has come to the conclusion that Israel has committed a genocide in Gaza – which Israel has severely rejected.
