Snow covers parts of New York and Nebraska

Parts of the US were blanketed in snow this weekend as a severe winter storm swept across the country.

People in Syracuse, New York, battled high winds to plow paths through the snow, while wintry conditions were also seen in Lowville, further north.

North Platte, in the midwestern state of Nebraska, was also hit by snow and ice.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory warning for the area that travel conditions will worsen due to ice and snow on the roads.
