Analysts do not expect any country to move without pressure from everyday Americans, most of whom have not yet felt a direct impact on their lives.

It was not clear exactly what Trump could decide in the Thursday meeting with Russell Water, Director of the US Management and Budget (Omb).

When Congress fails to preserve the US government, the Omb director is working with the president to choose which state activities need to stop and which are essential.

It then instructions to federal agencies for which employees put on Furlough, which means unpaid leave.

On the first day of stopping, Water said the White House had moved to pause or cancel billions of dollars funding intended for democratic countries, including $ 18 billion ($ 13.4 billion) in infrastructure projects in New York – the House of Senator Chuck.

Both sides must be collected to adopt legislation if the government will reopen.

Republicans need eight democratic senators to vote with them while Democrats need 13 Republicans to deal with them. Only three Democrats joined the Republicans at the last unsuccessful vote in the Senate on Wednesday.

Legislators are expected to try again on Friday afternoon to allow the impasse with a vote in the Senate.

US house chairman Mike Johnson has made comments during a press conference to exclude government in the US Capitol in Washington on October 2, 2025.

At press conferences on the duels on the Capitol hill on Thursday, none of the party seemed desirable to give a position.

Chairman of the Chamber, Mike Johnson, called the Democrats “selfish”, called him “exclusion of Democrats” and said he would not negotiate the addition of insurance subsidies – or other measures – for state funding.

Jeffrries accused the Republicans of not wanting to provide the working -class Americans and said Trump’s threats to fire more federal workers were pointless. He noted, “They fire federal employees all the time.”

Lee Mingofofoff, Director of the University of Public Opinion at Marista, said his poll suggests that Americans were largely divided party lines when it came to assigning the blame to stop.

Most of the democratic and republican respondents in his polls blame the other party for suspension, he said, while 41% of the independent said both sides shared the guilt equally.

“Both sides have mastered the direction of fingers, and everything we remain is an increasing number of people think the country is heading in the wrong direction,” Mingingofoff said.

He expected the Americans to pressure the congress to reopen the government – but not until they saw the impact of stopping on their own lives.
