The Israelis and the Palestinians seem both hope and cautious that the peace deal offered by US President Trump earlier this week can lead to a ceasefire.
The US leader said he believed that Hamas was “ready for lasting peace” and called on Israel to “stop the bombing over Gaza”, but in the early hours of today, three airbase hit the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said he would release all other Israeli hostages in Gaza, but asked for more negotiations on a number of issues outlined in the plan.
He also failed to deal with the key aspects of IT – including demands for its disarmament and his withdrawal from a role in Gaza’s management.
