I’m the real game boy. If it would not have a copy of the gray brick of any handheld in Nintendo and Super Mario LandI suspect I will write these words in Gizmodo. It is the gadget that started with my lifetime cotting-edge technology and it was my passion for sharing with others. So forgive me for being overwhelmed in emotion and nostalgia Lego declared It was creating a 421-piece brick set version of the iconic nintendo handheld.
Published on October 1, $ 1, Lego Game Boy is a very simple build. Lego says it was for 18+ or older, but there was nothing complicated enough that 10 -year -old could not follow these instructions. (Although, they have no nostalgia for Handheld published in 1989. (It sets all the fun and games building lego sets after work; it also works for me)

There is a lot of Easter eggs inside the lego game boy that makes it more than the deep entertainment of the skin. I talked to Lago Group’s senior designer Carl Marium and Lego Group Design Director Simon Kent, who worked to find some of his unseen privacy at Lego Game Boy.
Lego Game Boy designed
There are some views on which the company gets credit for the lego game. Is it lego or is it nintendo? The answer is both – as it should be. Nintendo is famous for its IP products, franchisees and characters is highly protected and it requires top-level approval. Merriam and Kent had to just leave the outer gray shell and pink buttons to make a Lego version of Game Boy.

Meriam, a senior designer who had been in Lego for 12 years, started as a fan before landing at the toy company. He has worked on Lego sets including Boost, Minecraft and Super Mario to name several popular series. Game Boy, which he said that it took about a year towards development from the idea, went through 10 to 20 repetitions before the team landed in the final design and to feel extra special, extra nintendo-y.
Game Boy’s dimensions proved to be limited to what Lego can do, but in the end I would say it is semi-believer to the actual handheld, which has to be appreciated.

“We do not have a lot of space here to make a lot of stuff, and to enable you to do something with the games,” Mariam told Gizmod “The thing we can achieve in the whole thing is that all the buttons are made as close as the actual device that is as close as the hapattic reaction or lego bricks as much as it can.”
He said that every region of Lego Game Boy himself had a design challenge. Merriam says he probably created 30 to 40 versions for D-Pad, buttons and Switches. Speaking of the games, the interior of the cartridges or games, as they are officially called, they finished the outer case and confirmed that all the functions were done after the process. More Lego Nintendo Console is coming?
Game Boy is the second Nintendo console which is Lego Brickfide. The first one was LEGO NES 2020 set in 2020The That set was even bigger, more pieces and was more expensive. Kent says that Lego Game Boy had an attempt on a Nintendo set that is more affordable.
“For a long time, in general, the team wanted to boy and we felt that now is probably the right time, and we also wanted to search for a separate price point,” Kent said. “Obviously, NES brought a TV to it is a high price point, so we wanted to do something smaller to test that area.”
I tried to get the Merriam and Kent to tell me if there was more Lego Nentendo console on the way, but they would not allow anything to go back. So if you are waiting for any Lego SNES, N64 or GameCube then you just have to wait.
Authentic joy and fun
When I first saw Lego Game Boy, I was both excited and curious to see how it would be different from the creation of many fan. I was surprised – or probably I shouldn’t have been – that Merium and Kent couldn’t look at the creation of the fan there.
“If you look for anything related to intellectual property, there is probably a Lego version of it,” Kent said. “We are very careful for that right reason.
“One of the most interesting differences between being a lego fan and lego designer is that we are designing a product to make at home and creating a product fun -making experience is completely different than just looking at something like the source elements,” said Mariam.
At the end of the day, Lego Game Boy – or any Lego set, really – should be fun to make it. Yes, I often speed up the build lego sets, but it usually comes to the cost of enjoying all the care that the entire build looks outside, but inside the interior.
There is not much to really dislike about the Lego Game Boy set. If there is anything in the net, it is the transparent screen spread a bit outside the box and I hope the lanticular cards were more visible. But again, the monochromatic green screen of the original game was pained from any angle other than the Dead Center. For the weekend build, which only cost $ 60, it is the most fun in your long time, especially if you have got a nostalgia for the game boy.
“The Lego system is like a language,” said the Merriam. “I want to try to write poems with the Lego system. Every time I can get it at once and I believe I have achieved it in it.”
