Forty -two Zimbabyans and Malawi killed after a bus on the way in South Africa

Forty -two of Zimbabwe and Malavian citizens have died after a bus takes them home, overturned on a South African road, authorities said.

The crash happened on Sunday night when the bus was moving through the “mountain section” on the N1 highway in Limpopo province in South Africa, local transport officials said.

“This (then) diverted from the road along a steep mountain passage and immersed themselves by embankment,” they added.

South Africa President Cyril Ramafosa mourned the high death, which included seven children, and said it was not only a tragedy for the country, but also for “our nursing states Zimbabwe and Malawi.”

The cause of the accident is unknown, but an investigation has begun.

According to reports, the bus was traveling from the city of Gcaberha to east Cape.

It is not clear how many people have traveled on the bus when it crashed, or its capacity.

In addition to seven children, 18 women and 17 men died while 49 people were injured, authorities confirmed.

Government officials, including the Minister of Transport Barbara Crey, are ready to visit the place of the crash as well as the injured passengers.
