The Trump administration is looking for alternative ways to ensure that federal law enforcement officers are paid when the government is excluded in their third week.
With Democrats and Republicans, imprisoned in the stagnant to stop, government officials are exploring alternative ways to pay some key programs, including a food program for women and children.
Meanwhile, members of the US military will be paid with the help of funds previously distributed to the Pentagon following an order from President Donald Trump.
Thousands of federal workers have already been fired, with Vice President JD Vance warning of further “painful” cuts if the stop continues.
On Tuesday, the Senate voted for the eighth time to finance the government, but failed to develop Republicans’ budget to stop Republicans with 49 to 45 votes.
It is not clear how much money would be needed to ensure that all federal law enforcement officers were paid.
In response to a request from the BBC, a spokesman for the Management and Budget Office – or OMB – confirmed that he was investigating alternative ways to ensure that these payments continue.
Like military officials, federal law enforcement officers are considered “essential” and are still expected to report on duty, even without pay.
These include FBI officers, the Drug Administration (DEA), the US Border Patrol and the Immigration and Customs Implementation (ICE).
Separately, on Saturday, Trump wrote to the Truth Social that he directed the Minister of Defense Pete Heget to use “all available funds” to receive members of the military paid on October 15, when his salaries will be detained.
While Trump did not provide more details about where this money would be withdrawn from, an Omb spokesman told the BBC that the funds would come from an amount distributed earlier for the exploration and development of defense, which is available for two years.
Approximately 750,000 federal employees – about 40% of the total workforce – have been discarded or sent home without pay.
The administration has started redundancies at least seven agencies, a total of about 4,000 workers so far.
With the two political parties in the United States, they continue to blame each other for suspension, the Trump administration said it was looking for new ways to ensure that some major services continue.
On Sunday, Interior Security Minister Christie Nov said that her department had found an “innovative” way to ensure that coastal security members continue to be paid, although it did not provide more details.
The administration employees also said that ratio revenue will be used to finance the dining program with special supplements for women, babies and children or WIC.
More than 6.5 million people across the country take advantage of the program that provides food for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or after birth, as well as babies and children under five.
However, the National WIC Association said in a statement that the measure “is not a permanent decision” and that prolonged exclusion could expose millions of recipients at risk.
Congress Democrats are reported to be placing a bill to ensure that the program remains fully funded, with Virginia’s democrat Robert Scott told The Guardian that it should be “immunized against the whims of the annual budget process”.
