Trump says we won’t “waste our time” helping Argentina if Miley loses

President Donald Trump has acknowledged that Argentina’s rescue crisis of $ 20 billion ($ 15 billion in British pounds) to help soothing Argentina’s currency crisis is an attempt to stick legislative elections this month in the South American nation.

Helping Libertarian leader of Argentina Javier Miley in the White House, Trump warned that the United States would not “waste their time” by helping Argentina if Miley’s party did not prevail.

Miley praised Trump for her efforts for peacekeeping and said the US President’s policies would lead to “prosperity”.

Argentina’s financial turmoil comes to the national intermediate elections on October 26, considered as a test for voters’ desire to continue to support the Miley spending program, reform of the free market.

As Trump was sitting across the table by his Argentine counterpart on Tuesday, he said that the Tit was not so tilted aloud.

“The election is coming very soon,” he said. “This is very big choices.”

Trump added: “Victory (for Milei) is very important. My poll numbers hear that they are pretty good. I think they will be better after.

“And, you know, our approvals are somewhat subject to who wins the election.”

The presidential election is not due to Argentina until 2027. But Trump said that if the “socialist wins”, then the US would feel “much more different” to support the South American nation.

“If he loses, we will not be generous with Argentina,” Trump said.

Miley, for her part, has accused Argentina’s economic woes for her political opponents.

“This problem of liquidity that Argentina has is the result of the political attacks we have suffered from our opponents,” he told Trump.

Maintaining Trump for his libertarian ally, who took office in December 2023, is no secret.

He said saving “just helps a great philosophy to take a great country,” and the White House put it up by supporting an important regional ally.

But Trump’s explicit connection with a recently declared exchange of currency between the US and Argentina with the electoral prospects of Milei is remarkable for an US president, who has previously turned against foreign intervention in election.

In the last province of Buenos Aires, Mailey’s Labertad Advance Coalition (advanced advances) has performed more than expected, with the Spooking markets, as they observe that any sign that his days of the economic program can be numbered.

Recently, his party was shaken by several corruption scandals.

If the Miley Party loses places or fails to win more, in the middle of this month, this may affect his government’s ability to undergo more reforms.

Several key vetos he has tried to do have already been canceled by Congress, where he has no majority.

But do we actually support make a difference?

The Argentine stocks fell after a press conference on Tuesday.

This intervention, which had to stabilize the economy in Argentina, now seems to depend on Miley, providing more political support.

And it seems that the financial markets are unbearable that Trump’s approval will be enough to enhance the chances of Miley’s choice.

This exchange of currency was economically speaking, it was a bit of the Argentina Currency Rescue Line – Pesoto, which has been losing value for years.

As a means of controlling inflation, Miley stopped the peso to depreciate too drastically, keeping it supported by the country’s reserves.

The problem with this is that it drains reserves before $ 20 billion in debt due to next year.

This has led to concerns, including among investors that the country is focusing on a financial crisis if it fails again.

Some believe that in order to prevent this Milei, it may need to let the currency depreciate dramatically – which will lead to a pricing jump, as people’s money will suddenly cost less.

Many economists have told me that they think it will be a “political suicide”. So, maybe US intervention helps to avoid this political disaster.

But will that really cross ordinary voters? Public opinion polls suggest that some Argentines are tired of the sharp measures for the rigorous savings of Milei.

Its supporters welcome them to reduce inflation and reduce deficiency.

But they have come to social expenses – with great abbreviations of pensions, education, healthcare, infrastructure and subsidies for transport and utilities, among other things.
