Anker’s Solar-Powered Cooler Is a Bonafide Fridge on Wheels

It keeps your drinks cold and your smartphone charged. It also pairs well with Anker’s new solar-charged umbrella.

I’m a firm believer in bringing what you need to the party. This includes when the party is being held outdoors, in the middle of the woods, with no outlet nearby. And look, I understand trying to go off the grid for your sanity, but how do you keep the Vibes on if you don’t have to draw a little battery power?

Enter Anker’s new EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler and Solix Solar Umbrella, debuting this week at CES 2025. The gadgetized outdoor party essentials have been launched alongside a 140W display with a charger and a 25,000mAh power bank with a retractable cable. Still, the cooler and the umbrella caught our interest the most. The whole point of these gadgets is to provide energy when you’re out and about without having to remember to bring reinforcements. Also, actually cool by cooling food, and it’s remotely controlled so you can monitor the temperature of drinks and food from afar. ,

The EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler comes in 23L, 40L, and 58L sizes, with the larger variant making the most of the three sizes. The 58L version has two separate compartments that effectively dodge a fridge-on-wheels; One side freezes while the other keeps cool. Naturally, both are controlled by an app. The electric cooler also has a fold-down tray with a handle and IPX3 waterproofing.

Two detachable batteries power each cooler, which Anker says can cool two packs for up to 104 hours at a time. Each battery also doubles as a power bank with USB-C and USB-A charging ports in case you want to charge a phone or keep a string of lights on. The cooler has a 100W solar charger, car socket and USB-C for recharging. The 40L and 58L will be available in February, with the smaller variant launching later in the year.

Not as exciting as the Anker Solix Solar Umbrella Coolers. It won’t actively cool you, but it can create shade in the middle of nowhere because it’s an umbrella. At the very least, the Solar Umbrella XT-60 is equipped with 100W output power through both the USB-C connection port, so you can connect a variety of things to it to stay powered. The umbrella is IP67 waterproof and will be available sometime this summer. No prices available yet for coolers or umbrellas.
