Spit On, Sworn At, and Undeterred: What It’s Like to Own a Cybertruck

Spread the love

Then I got my wife a Model S for Christmas. I started driving around that, and I’m like, I’m like this. I ordered again for the Cybertruck and after that I started to build excitement.

How do you feel about it now?

Oh, I love it. Now, everything else to me—and I’m not talking about anybody else’s stuff, I still like a lot of other vehicles out there—but everything else, to me, those soft lines and everything, it all kind of blends together. And Cybertruck clearly stands out. I mean, we pretty much took out the trailer, and I can go to a campground and 50 kids come out: “Cybertruck, Cybertruck, Cybertruck.” I carry little toys inside the Frank so I can take them out and give them to the kids and they love it. It’s a lot of fun.

Something you don’t like about it?

I can’t really see the front of the windshield because it’s so long.

How is the Cybertruck community?

When I had a Bentley and I met other people with Bentleys or Rolls-Royces, it was exclusive. They were a little stuck to other people with other vehicles. I’ve learned with Cybertruck owners, it’s like, “Hey, you want to see it? Come on over. You want to test drive? Come on over.” They include more.

What’s the biggest reaction you’ve gotten from someone while running it?

A few months ago, I think it was in Idaho, my son and I stopped at this place where they had a bunch of bears. It was almost attacked by bears; It was kind of gross. This guy literally drove through the grass, through the bear and cut off other cars and was right behind me. And I’m like, dude, who is this?
