Elon Musk has privately discussed with his allies how Sir Keir Starmer could be removed as UK prime minister ahead of the next general election, people briefed on the matter said.

Musk has been examining candidates to replace Farage as leader of the party, including Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe, and what methods are available to replace him, people briefed on his thinking said.

Reform UK has seen a surge in support in recent months, with opinion polls suggesting 22 percent of the public support the party, up from 14 percent at the July election.

According to the Politico poll, Labor is on 28 per cent, the Tories on 24 per cent.

Musk’s rift with Farage comes after the two met at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida last month and the Reform UK leader described the serial entrepreneur as a “friend”.

Farage played down the spat on Tuesday. They told LBC radio they will see Musk this month, who plans to travel to the US to attend Trump’s inauguration in Washington.

He added, “I have no desire to go to war with Elon Musk and I will not.”

Starmer, by contrast, is not expected to attend Trump’s inauguration. Conservative leader Kimi Baden did not plan to attend the meeting.
