Nikita Bear, creator of popular apps like anonymous polling app TBH (acquired by Facebook) and anonymous praise app Gas (acquired by Discord), has created a new app explosionwhich focuses invisible messages in iMessage
Explode works as a mini app for Apple’s Messages app. It helps you send invisible messages to other people. Users can see the text or image once, and then it … explodes. The app also prevents users from taking screenshots. In a post on X, Bear said that only the sender needs to have the Explode app.
The app is free to download, users can sign up for Explode+ for $39.99 per year or $7.99 per month to unlock all features. Paid users can receive screenshot alerts, block screenshots entirely, replay photos they’ve previously sent, and lock viewing photos after they’ve been sent.
Bear’s posts about Explode diagonal are too much to take excavation A Snapchat. In a post, he said that after he discussed acquiring Gas with Snap, the social media company kicked Gas off the SnapKit developer platform.
“Two years ago, I met with the CEO of Snapchat to discuss the acquisition of my previous company. I have openly shared how fast we are growing. Just one week later — over the Thanksgiving holiday — Snapchat removed our app from the SnapKit platform, abruptly halting our growth,” he said.
In a screenshot of an email seen by TechCrunch, Snap sent an email to developers saying Gas was using URL attachments to recommend friends without the sender’s clear intent — Snap thought it violated its policy and tried to replicate Snap’s functionality. Bear said Gas works on contacts and doesn’t rely on Snap’s social graph.
However, Snap was a major growth driver for the app. In an October 2022 post, Bear said that 23% of Snapchat’s US user base has seen a gas story. He said that sharing a gas poll with Snapchat was placed as an initial button on the app, and that Snap’s action broke the app for seven days.

Snap did not immediately comment on the story. Conflict finally achieved Gas in January 2023 And Close it in November 2023.
Right now, the app is only available in the US and other countries like Canada, UK, Australia, US, France, Germany and Italy.
