Anduril to build its billion-dollar weapons megafactory in Ohio

On Thursday Anduril announced that it is building its massive weapons factory, Arsenal-1, in Columbus, OhioTechCrunch confirms earlier reporting. In a blog postThe company said it would invest about $1 billion of its own money in the project and that the factory would be five million square feet. The post also claims it will bring 4,000 jobs to the area.

The factory is a giant step for the defense technology startup, Founded by Palmer Luckie, Trey Stephens and othersThis allows it to scale production of its autonomous systems for surveillance and weapons.

Part of Ohio’s appeal was its proximity to Rickenbacker International Airport, where the company would have access to a 12,000-foot runway as well as ample land, as the company would have 500 acres nearby for potential expansion, it said.
