Over the weekend, I went to DC to meet everyone Right wing influencers and content creators who created President Donald Trump 2024 win possible. they were everywhere.
The 2024 election was on dominant selection And The inauguration was no different: There were dozens of pre- and post-inauguration parties and balls this weekend, as well as the big event itself. Theo Von sat in front of Jake and Logan Paul under the Capitol Rotunda (well, Until the podcaster’s chair collapses) Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh and Brett Cooper walked the Turning Point USA red carpet and posed for selfies with fans. Jessica Reid Krause, writer for the HouseInHabit newsletter, hung out with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the Make America Healthy Again Ball on Monday night.
In August, I published A Guide to Republican and Democratic Influentials Shaping the 2024 elections. Influencers and content creators are still important, and they will communicate and guide policy decisions for years to come.
Welcome to Trump 2.0, where these creators not only have the ear of their audience, but the president as well. Here’s something to keep an eye on over the next four years.
The 2024 election was a breakout cycle for podcasters in politics. Most of Trump’s shows are on Provided in the ManosphereA loose network of creators who push antisocial, racist, and sexist ideologies online. This includes people like this Joe Rogan, Andrew Schulz, Paul Vaughan and Adin Rosswho shared the Trump interview with their millions of fans. There is also a second wing, composed of creationists who identify themselves as the intellectual wing of the modern Republican Party, e.g. Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin and Lex Friedman. Friedman’s YouTube podcast reaches millions of viewers each week. Shapiro’s program is the most popular on Spotify.
These podcasters have amplified Trump and his agenda with little, if any, pushback. They will likely play a key role in rallying support for the Trump administration’s decisions.
I spoke briefly with Shapiro on Sunday night, asking what’s next for the GOP and podcasting. “The energy continues to grow,” he said. “Legacy media has completely blown itself out. We’re focused on expanding not just our brand, but many other brands, I think it’s going to be a very prosperous time for the podcast industry.”
DC Dryno, The Typical Liberal, Raging American and Snowflaketeers Some of the biggest pro-MAGA meme pages on Instagram. Together, these accounts have more than 6 million followers. They serve as conduits between GOP leadership priorities and platforms like X and Instagram.
Think of their accounts as news aggregators for people who might not otherwise be using them.
Although Democrats worked with influencers in the last election cycle, no PAC or campaign organized them properly effectively and efficiently. Because of Turning Point USA and its leaders, Charlie KirkMany of the GOP’s most popular builders meet with each other at least a few times a year at the organization’s summits and trainings. That infrastructure is set to grow over the next four years, according to interviews with some of the right’s top organizers. The organizers themselves have become influential to watch.
I wrote about The opening weekend hosted an impressive party (and victory lap). By that is done CJ Pearson And Raquel Debono. Pearson, a conservative creator with more than 500,000 X followers, coaches the Republican National Committee’s Youth Advisory Council. He has been instrumental in recruiting party influencers and is planning additional training with organizations such as the Heritage Foundation.
