Airbus airplane has caught fire at an airport of Busan in South Korea, forcing the evacuation of all 176 people on board, fire authorities say.
Four people are said to have been injured as they escaped from the Air Busan aircraft on inflatable slides at the southeast airport on Tuesday night.
The flame is said to have begun in the queue of a hong Kong plane shortly before the departure. Firefighters – who arrived in minutes – were seen trying to extinguish the fire that spread in the fuselage.
This comes less than a month after the worst air disaster on South Korean soil when the Jeju air aircraft crashed at the Southwestern Muan airport, killing 179 people. Two people survived.
The fire aboard at Air Busan International Airport GIMHAE started at about 22:26 local time (13:26 GMT) on Tuesday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing South Korea fire authorities.
It says that firefighters arrived at the scene eight minutes later.
Later, photos appeared showing that the burning plane is deleted with water.
There were 169 passengers on the plane and seven crews.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Air Busan is a budget airline whose mother company is Asiana Airlines.
Busan Airport is located about 315 km (195 miles) southeast of the capital, Seoul.
