Hamas confirmed that his military chief Mohammed Def was killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip last year.
The Israeli military said in August that he had killed Deef the previous month, but Hamas had not confirmed it so far.
Hamas also announced the death of deputy military commander Marvan Isa.
The United States announced the death of Isa last March. At that time he was the oldest Hamas leader who died, as the war began on October 7, 2023.
