‘All gone’, the BBC finally has access to one of Jamaica’s worst affected areas

Homes and power lines have been destroyed in the Jamaican tourist hub of Falmouth, which the BBC was finally able to reach after Hurricane Melissa.

Among the buildings damaged was the William Knibb Baptist Church, which was visited by King Charles during a royal tour of the island in 2008.

Power companies are scrambling to restore power to the city as the country continues to grapple with blackouts after the Category Five hurricane made landfall on Tuesday.
